Aclimation
Prepare the Tank:
Make sure the new tank is set up with proper filtration and has been cycled to establish beneficial bacteria.
Check that the water temperature, pH, and other water parameters match those of the water the guppies are coming from.
Float the Bag:
Place the sealed bag containing the guppies in the new tank. Let it float for about 15-20 minutes to equalize the temperature between the bag water and the tank water.
Add Tank Water to the Bag:
Open the bag and roll down the top edges to create an air pocket so it can float. Every 5 minutes, add a small amount of tank water to the bag (about 1/4 cup). Do this for about 30 minutes. This helps the guppies gradually get used to the water chemistry in the new tank.
Release the Fish:
After the acclimation period, gently net the guppies out of the bag and place them into the tank. Avoid pouring the bag water into the tank to minimize the risk of introducing any potential contaminants.

Shrimp are excellent tank mates for guppies due to their peaceful nature and complementary living habits. While guppies tend to swim in the middle and top areas of the tank, shrimp are bottom dwellers, reducing competition for space. Additionally, shrimp serve as natural tank cleaners, consuming algae, leftover food, and detritus, which helps maintain a healthier environment for guppies
